Saga are delighted to offer a range of holidays to two of the premier opera events in 2009 – the Verona Opera Festival and the Puccini Festival. Opera is a unique dramatic form in which music carries the burden of the drama and few men have accomplished this with such success as Verdi, Puccini, Bizet and Rossini.

Join the regulars in Verona and enjoy different operas in the programme for 2009. The romantic city of Verona has been celebrating the pageantry and passion of opera with its world-famous festival since 1913 and its stunning Roman amphitheatre provides a magnificent backdrop.

Alternatively, enjoy the well-established Puccini Festival held in Torre del Lago in Tuscany, where the great Italian composer made his home, composed most of his operas and is now buried. Discover the local landscapes, culture and atmosphere that inspired the creation of Puccini’s glorious music, and experience it at night, beneath the stars, in the magnificent open-air theatre on the shores of Lake Massiuccoli.
