Join Faryl Smith aboard Saga Ruby
Saga is pleased to announce that mezzo-soprano Faryl Smith will be performing exclusively aboard Saga Ruby in 2009, her only cruise perfomances for the year
You can look forward to stirring performances from Faryl on a choice of two exciting cruises as Saga Ruby sails to the Baltic's historic ports or the exotic shores of the Canary Islands.
Singing sensation Faryl Smith sang her way to the final of ITV's Britain's Got Talent last year, winning the hearts of the nation with her beautiful voice and the surprising composure she showed for a schoolgirl.
Faryl's singing career has grown from her time as a chorister and performing with the award-winning Masquerade Youth Choir in her home town of Kettering. Both have helped shape her voice and expand her repertoire.
Some of her earliest solo achievements were winning three awards at Kettering's Eisteddfodd, taking first prize in her age group at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfodd and reaching the final of the Festival 4 Stars in Glasgow.
Known for her down-to-earth attitude, Faryl says: "I just enter these competitions and see what happens. Everything I do helps me gain experience."
She has been compared to fellow mezzo-soprano and her musical heroine Katherine Jenkins, whom she met prior to performing on Britain's Got Talent.
"Katherine has been a great inspiration and I sing some of her songs as well. She advised me to enter every competition I could to bring out my confidence, and that something might happen from there."
Such advice has proved auspicious, with Faryl set to sign the largest record deal ever awarded to a schoolgirl, ensuring her continued rise to stardom.
