3. Corfu

Located between the heel of Italy and the west coast of mainland Greece, the verdant island of Corfu features rustic olive groves, magnificent mountains and pretty woodland. Ruled by the British between 1815 and 1864, the island retains its colonial feel.

4. Zakynthos
