1. Kefalonia

2. Ithaka

Situated just off Kefalonia's north-eastern coast, Ithaka is ideal for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle, and enjoy a typical Greek holiday without the crowds. Famed as the homeland of Odysseus, Ithaka is covered in olive-clad mountainsides that plunge downward into crystal-clear, turquoise waters.

3. Corfu

Located between the heel of Italy and the west coast of mainland Greece, the verdant island of Corfu features rustic olive groves, magnificent mountains and pretty woodland. Ruled by the British between 1815 and 1864, the island retains its colonial feel.

4. Zakynthos

Zakynthos, often called Zante which is the old Venetian name for the island, is part of the Ionian Islands with beautiful sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. It is famous for its rich, green hillsides and for the quaintness of its mountain villages.
Beautifully built out of local stone, it has delightful wooden beamed ceilings and provides a high standard of tasteful furnishings throughout.

5. Crete

The largest and most southerly of the Greek islands, Crete is an ideal destination for unwinding in the Mediterranean sunshine. It was the heart of the Minoan kingdom from 2800 to 1450BC, making it the first advanced European civilisation.
