Share dealing

Discover Saga Share Direct's three share dealing accounts to see which is the right one for you. Saga Share Direct is provided by Equiniti Financial Services Limited.

For UK residents aged 50 and over.

Investing with Saga Share Direct

Along with standard savings accounts or property, owning shares can form a significant part of a well-balanced portfolio. Saga Share Direct gives you the opportunity to manage and control your own share investments with three account options: the Shares ISA, the Nominee Dealing account and the Certificated Dealing service.

As a Saga Share Direct account holder, you’ll have access to a range of tools, market news and information to help you make your investment decisions. Nominee and Shares ISA customers get enhanced access to operate virtual portfolios, are able to set up watchlists and alerts and all customers can sign up for daily email market updates.

Saga Share Direct does not offer advice and is not suitable for everyone. If you are unsure whether it is suitable for you, you should obtain advice from a financial adviser.

Shares are high-risk investments. Share prices and the income from them can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the full amount invested.

The three accounts explained

Every share dealing account at Saga Share Direct puts you in the driving seat, so you decide which shares to buy or sell and when. How do you want to place your instructions? How do you wish to hold your shares? Do you want tax-efficient returns? All these questions can influence which account would suit you best. The basic differences are shown in the comparison chart below or, to find out more, visit the web page of each account.

None of the Saga Share Direct accounts charge quarterly or annual account management fees and all are free of charge to open, simply have your National Insurance number and bank details to hand – no money is debited from your account until you are ready to trade. Underlying investments may have their own individual fees, which will be shown in the key information for those investments. For further details about the charges payable, please click here.
