Motor claims in Chesire are expensive but rare

  • Stolen vehicles in the region cost almost 20% more to replace than the rest of the UK
  • 2nd most expensive region in the UK for all motor claims

Research from Saga Motor Insurance today reveals the regional differences between motor insurance claims in the UK.* Motorists in Cheshire tend to have some of the most expensive accident claims, costing 10% more than the UK average to repair, thankfully though, they are 7% less likely to make them.

It appears that Cheshire's motorists have some of the most expensive cars in the UK, as stolen cars cost almost 20% more to replace than the national average, this is the second highest in the country after the home counties. Vehicles are however, 18% less likely to be stolen, suggesting that car owners ensure they have adequate security for their pride and joy.

Overall motorists in the region are 10% less likely to make any sort of claim on their insurance than the UK average but in total, these claims cost 12% more to repair, which makes it the 2nd most expensive region in the UK, behind Lancashire and ahead of London.
