Lancashire is the right side of the Pennines for your car stereo

  • Yorkshire motorists are 21% more likely to have their car broken into
  • Accident claims in Lancashire cost 22% more than UK average

Research from Saga Motor Insurance today reveals the regional differences between motor insurance claims in the UK.* Motorists in Lancashire are 21% less likely to have their personal belongings stolen from inside their vehicle than those on the other side of the Pennines.

Roads in the county appear to be in a better condition than much of the UK as there are 25% fewer claims for windscreen damage compared to the national average.

The bad news however is that there are 74% more claims for stolen vehicles in the region than the national average - only London experiences more - so car owners are urged to take more precautions regarding security.

Although Lancastrians tend to have slightly fewer accidents than average, they do tend to be rather expensive to repair on average costing 22% more than the rest of the UK.
