Katherine Jenkins to give exclusive performance

Following the news that Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins will be departing the UK for her new multi-million pound recording contract, Saga, the leading cruise specialist for the over 50s, are delighted to announce that Katherine will be playing an exclusive concert on November 21 2008 onboard Saga Ruby during the Ancient Egypt and Suez Canal cruise next month.

Katherine has recently signed the most lucrative contract ever awarded to a classical musician. She has also performed at the Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House and is the recipient of two consecutive Classical BRIT Awards. Her debut album, released when she was just 23, topped the classical charts for eight weeks, making her the fastest-selling female opera singer since Maria Callas.

The 29-night cruise departs from Southampton on November 18, 2008, and explores southern Italy before travelling to Alexandria and Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt followed by the 'lost city' of Petra in Jordan. From there it takes in the ancient ruins of Leptis Magna, the magnificent Palace of Knossos before finally travelling on the Suez Canal and returning to Southampton via Libya, Malta and Spain on December 17, 2008. Prices for this cruise start at 2831* per person.
