All set for a full-on Sri Lankan Adventure?

This action-packed tour embraces Sri Lanka's cultural heritage of ancient cities and temples along with its magnificent array of wildlife.

Fly to Colombo, visiting the Ganagaramaya Buddhist Temple and the Independence Square Memorial Hall before travelling to Habarana for an elephant-back safari.

Further options include an excursion to explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which dates from the 5th century.

The tour continues to Kandy, visiting the Dambulla cave temple en route. The temple is the largest and best-preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka and has attained UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

Another highlight for passengers will be a visit to the Pinnawela elephant orphanage which cares for 3,000 elephants and allows visitors to view the magnificent creatures at close quarters.

Lunch will be served at Pinnalanda restaurant which overlooks the river where the elephants bathe.

Return to Kandy for a city tour which takes in the Royal Palace and Temple of the Tooth, which is believed to house the tooth of Buddha and is the site of many vibrant festivals throughout the year.

In Nuwara Eliya visit a lush, green tea estate which produces the highest quality Ceylon tea and later visit a botanical garden, an oasis of fragrant and colourful blooms.

Enjoy a champagne breakfast before visiting a local school supported by the Saga Charitable Trust and travel on to Yala National Park to look out for leopards, elephants and the Malabar pied hornbill.

The wildlife magic continues at the Bundala Bird Sanctuary, an important area for aquatic birdlife such as the spoonbill and spot-billed pelican.

Next, travel south to the ancient city of Galle, founded by the Portuguese in 16th century before falling into Dutch hands in 1640. To defend their prize, the Dutch built a bastioned stone wall around the peninsula and the 128-acre fortified settlement and Galle Fort draws visitors fromacross the world. A river safari at Beruwala will top this incredible holiday.
