2015: More celebs eligible to travel with Saga!

Monday 15 December 2014

2015 will see a host of celebrities celebrate their half-century so, for a sprinkling of festive fun, Saga have chosen holidays for some of the stars born in 1965. Of course, it’s just fantasy, but fun to think these household names will soon be eligible to join safaris, paradise island getaway holidays, cruises and adventure tours with Saga.

2015: More celebs eligible to travel with Saga!

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, January 14

The British chef considered a career in wildlife conservation in Africa. He could take a break from UK weather, farming and cooking to return to the wild on the 11-night Botswana and Jewel of the Kalahari active explorer holiday which includes camping for three nights near the Khawi River.

James Nesbitt, January 15

He’s a favourite on film and TV so to give him a break from the limelight James could join the 10-night Seychelles Island Explorer sailing around the paradise islands on Pegasus, a 45-metre motor yacht just right for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling.

Princess Stephanie of Monaco, February 1

Seventh in the line to the Monegasque throne, Stephanie has been a singer, swimwear designer and fashion model. The colourful princess would love the vibrancy of India and Saga’s 15-night escorted tour to Rajasthan: The Princely State.

Chris Rock, February 7

The US comedian is always on tour so he could get really away from it all by visiting the heart of aboriginal culture and, of course Uluru, the world’s biggest rock – Ayers Rock – on a 19-night Australian Adventure.

Sarah Jessica Parker, March 25

The actress loved being in Europe to film All Roads Leads to Rome. She might be tempted by A French Interlude mini-cruise on the chic Saga Sapphire. She could fly in to London to hit the West End shops before sailing to Le Havre to spend a day in Paris to savour the haute couture. In Cherbourg, she can explore the city of art and culture or view the Bayeux Tapestry.

Rob Brydon, May 3

The actor, presenter, comedian and impressionist loves to play golf. We would invite him to Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort in Tobago which has a Par-72, 18-hole course woven into the 750-acre former coconut plantations. This is a new resort for Saga so apt for a new Saga guest!

Liz Hurley, June 10

Liz Hurley will want to look her glamorous best when she hits 50 so would surely love the Soul of Kerala tour, in south-west India, which includes a stay at the Marari Beach Resort which boasts an excellent Ayurveda Spa.

Jo Whiley, July 4

The former BBC Radio One DJ reigned during the Brit Pop era of Blur and Oasis. As a wife and mother-of-four she might like a musical getaway on the Soul of Mississippi escorted cruise tour along Ol’ Man River to Memphis, the heartland of jazz and rock’n’roll.

J K Rowling, July 31

We know the author loves her holidays so we suggest The Lhasa Express across Tibet, which also includes a tour of China to see Beijing and Shanghai, climb the Great Wall and view the Terracotta Army. JK’s parents met at King’s Cross Station so the romance of a train journey could enchant and bring inspiration for a new book!

Slash (Saul Hudson) July 23

The former lead guitarist in rock band Guns N’ Roses contributes to environmental welfare programmes and supports zoos around the world. Slash's love of reptiles means it has to be a wildlife trip for him; maybe in search of an anaconda on Saga’s 15-night South American Adventure?

If any of the celebrities choose a holiday with Saga they would benefit from door-to-door chauffeur service, return flights and transfers, airport taxes, accommodation, porterage, tour manager, tourist visa and travel insurance. Saga cruise ships sail from Southampton and the price includes all meals and entertainment, afternoon tea, 24-hour room service, welcome cocktail party, unlimited tea and coffee in selected venues, free Wi-Fi, all on-board gratuities, porterage, free shuttle bus to nearest town centre (whenever possible and when the ship is berthed more than 500 yards away).

Saga Holidays holds seven 2014 British Travel Awards including Best Holiday Company for Escorted Adventures, Special Interests and Singles; Best Holiday Company to Western Europe, to South East Asia to Central and South America, plus Best Specialist Small Ship Cruise Line.
