Saga’s Art Appreciation holidays offer passengers the opportunity to admire everything from Roman masterpieces to Modernist works – with experts presenting talks and accompanying tours to ensure liked-minded guests get the most out of their themed holiday.

Art History in Malta
Admire a diverse range of art, including Byzantine frescoes and Caravaggio's masterpieces in St Paul’s, Malta. On this all-inclusive holiday an expert host will present three talks to accompany the 11 visits to churches, museums and galleries. They include St Paul’s Shipwreck Church which houses vault paintings by Attilo Palombi and Caravaggio’s The Beheading of St John' at St John’s Cathedral and museum. There will be free time at the National Museum of Fine Arts and an opportunity to view works by Rembrandt in Mdina Cathedral and Museum.

Amsterdam and the Golden Age of Dutch Art

Fine art of Spain
Art lovers will be thrilled by this tour from Toledo to Madrid. Explore Toledo’s rich collection of works by the great Spanish masters including El Greco and Goya. In Cuenca, view the Spanish Abstract Museum’s paintings and sculptures by 1950s and 1960s artists. Next stop, Alcalá de Henares - the UNESCO-protected city that charts the evolution of Spain. Spend two nights in Madrid to join a sightseeing tour and visit the Reina Sofia Museum which houses Picasso’s ‘Guernica’. Enter The Prado, home to the Spanish royal collections and do not miss the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum with its impressive collection of 15th to 20th century Western art.

Dali’s Spain and Barcelona
An expert host will present two talks to accompany your visits to the Joan Miró Foundation and Picasso Museum in Barcelona. See an unusual selection of objet d'art, including Dali's cadillac at Castle of Púbol and explore the quirky Dali Museum in Figueras. Take a walking tour of Barcelona to view art associated with the Modernism movement and enjoy plenty of free time to explore the city. Stay at a seafront hotel in S’Agaro, a small town just a 50m walk to the sands and a promenade.
