Saga Pearl II sails into a sea of chocolate with chocolatier Mark Tilling leading the way on the 24-night Food and Wine themed Canaries and Cape Verde cruise on November 14, 2014.

The chocolatier, whose mouth-watering creations have earned him a worldwide reputation, will be joined by sugarcraft tutor Frances McNaughton who will be demonstrating the art of cake decorating. Frances is a renowned sugarcraft expert who has created sugarcraft for Hollywood films such as Chocolat, Notting Hill, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Sweet-toothed guests can also look forward to a daily afternoon tea, including the ‘chocolate spectacular tea’ complete with chocolate fountain. There are also hands-on sessions such as sugarcraft and chocolate truffle making workshops with our chocolatiers on board, plus lots of chocolate tastings!

Every night the dessert menu will include a chocolate treat and if guests want to learn about which dessert wines to wash down a confection of treats, Master of Wine Conal Gregory will be on board to offer wine and food matching sessions.
Guests on this no-fly cruise from Southampton will also have the chance to join Saga Pearl II’s chefs in the galley to experience life in a professional kitchen.

For those who can drag themselves away from the sweet temptations, there will be numerous opportunities to explore ashore including the  volcanoes of the Canaries and the rugged landscape of the Cape Verde archipelago before sailing 300 miles to Africa’s westernmost city of Dakar.
