Saga supports Government campaign to help carers boost their pension
Paul Green, director of communications at Saga, said: “The nation relies on an army of millions of family carers - people who don't think of themselves as carers but rather as loving husbands and wives, sons and daughters, mums and dads. These are people are so focussed on caring for their loved ones that they too often forget to look after themselves.
“Our research shows that around one in six (16%) over 50s care for a loved one. The Government is right to highlight the need for carers to register for the Carers Credit, it is a simple process. But carers need a helping hand - perhaps the Government could actively seek out carers and then adjust their pension credit automatically.”
