Paul Green, director of communications, at Saga, commented: “It’s dreadful that so many older people feel like they are not receiving the right care and attention when in hospital.
“However, it’s not just the perception about the quality of care that is an issue. A Saga health survey of 10,000 over 50s showed that the most important thing people value is being able to see a doctor and then receive treatment quickly. Waiting for treatment and diagnoses is the real issue - people want to get on with living life to the full and not being kept 'on hold' in life's waiting room."
