Saga offers passengers a choice of new holidays with travel on Eurostar trains

December 1st marks 25th anniversary of Channel Tunnel ceremonial break through

A quarter of a century has passed since the Channel Tunnel’s historic ceremonial break through on December 1, 1990 – and once the British side and French side had met ‘in the middle’ it took just three and a half years until the Queen and French President François Mitterrand could declare the tunnel open in May 1994.

Since then Eurostar trains have reached speeds of up to 208mph and passengers can, for example, travel from London to Paris in under 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Saga passengers enjoy a vast choice of holidays to the Continent travelling by Eurostar for river cruises, escorted tours and relaxing breaks.

Next year, Saga has many new Eurostar travel options for those who enjoy the comfort and convenience of train travel or simply prefer no-fly holidays. Here’s a snapshot of some 2016 itineraries:

Guests stay on a half-board basis and fresh, locally-sourced seasonal produce is served in the restaurant or al fresco when the weather permits.
