Our policy is not simply to donate money, but to invest in sustainable projects that will empower and support local communities into the future.
We passionately believe in giving something back to communities in developing countries that welcome Saga guests, and supporting projects in communities local to our UK office sites.
Overseas the Trust funds four key areas: education, training, healthcare and income generation. By working closely with local communities we are able to identify programmes that will make a real and sustainable difference. Since 1985 we have supported a variety of projects in 17 countries across 5 continents. A selection of our completed and ongoing projects can be viewed in detail in the projects section.
In the UK we provide small grants of up to £800 for registered charities, CASC's and CIO's who operate within 20 miles of a UK Saga office site. UK based projects should fit with one of Saga's brand values:
- We exist to inspire and enable new possibilities
- Nothing is too much trouble for our customers
- We must see the world through our customers eyes so we can exceed their expectations
- We trust and challenge each other to be brave and do the right thing
We accept applications for funding all year round. Our Trustee board meets quarterly to review overseas project applications and our CSR Committee meets every other month to review UK project applications. Guidelines on how to apply and the online application form can be accessed via the links below. For overseas applications we encourage applicants to pay particular attention to the need for the project to be sustainable, and to be located in a place visited by Saga holidaymakers.
Please note that we will not consider or respond to any funding applications sent by post or email. All applications must be made using our online form.
We are happy to answer questions and talk through proposals, please contact Sarah on 01303 774012 should you wish to do so.Online Application Form
