We all know how upsetting it is when a pet falls ill, and sometimes this can be
compounded by the worry of large vets' bills. Treating a cat with a broken leg,
for example, can cost around £1,000, while cataracts for a dog could exceed
£1,500 (based on Saga claims data).
Saga Pet Insurance doesn't just cover vets' bills. If you have to spend more
than 96 hours in hospital, we will help cover the kennel costs for your pet. If
you have to cancel your holiday because your pet needs emergency surgery, Saga
will help to reimburse your non-recoverable expenses. You may need, for
example, to cancel a flight and be unable to get back the money you paid. Cover
is also offered for advertising and reward costs if your pet is lost or stolen.
Saga Pet Insurance even covers damage or expense caused by your dog for which
you may be legally liable, if your dog bit the postman for example, or got
loose and caused a road traffic accident.
If you are aged 50 or over, Saga's Pet Insurance can give you peace of mind from
as little as £4.10 per month for your cat and £9.34 per month for your dog.
These prices are based on an eleven month old female crossbreed living in the NE4
postcode area with Saver cover. Prices are correct as at May 2008. The
actual premiums will depend on your individual circumstances.
