Characteristics of the Taurus man

There’s a lot going for the Taurus male. He’s reliable, loyal and a pillar of strength in a crisis. He’s successful at work, shows little sign of stress, and forges ahead without any fuss to make sure he’s financially secure and can provide for his family.

He loves being head of a household, and will not only protect his nearest and dearest, but make sure they want for nothing. All in all, he’s a charming man who keeps his word. And you’ll never need to worry about a roving eye - he’s all yours.

The Taurus man in love

When the Taurus male falls in love, he falls madly and deeply. So much so, that if he’s ever loved you, you’ll always have a place in his heart. He’ll struggle to let go if a relationship comes to an end, and he can become possessive, and at times emotional, if he believes a partner is spending too much time in the company of other men. He likes structure and routine in his life though, so at least the next date will be planned before the one you’re on has ended.

How to date a Taurus man

Good things come to those who wait, so be patient. The Taurus male likes to take relationships one step at a time and will back off if he feels things are progressing too fast. Change can also unsettle him, so let him get used to the idea of being part of a couple before moving your belongings into his home.

That said, there is a tendency for the Taurus man to be complacent, so nudge him from time to time to discuss the future. And a word of advice, make an effort to dress up for every date. He certainly will.

How NOT to date a Taurus man

At times you may think he’s being frugal, but he’s just spending wisely. So don’t be seen wasting money down the drain. Annoyed? Whatever you do, avoid an argument. Even if you disagree with him, the Taurus male is as stubborn as they get.

He strongly believes things are best ‘his way’ and rather than listening to someone else’s point of view, he’ll shut down and pretend a conversation never happened. It’s infuriating – he knows that too - but he won’t own up to being wrong.

The perfect date

The Taurus male loves music, art and theatre so will be thrilled if you can get your hands on tickets for a top-rated show, a sold-out exhibition or a private viewing at an art gallery. That too much of an ask? Even if you’re off to see a performance of some sort locally, book the best seats you can afford. It’ll be noted and much appreciated. On an evening in, this star sign loves nothing more than a hearty meal so start flicking through your recipe books now. Chances are he’ll want to cook it with you.

Compatibility

Averse to risk-taking, the Taurus male will usually shun the advances of Fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius), who constantly seek new experiences. However, there is a chance he’ll make a go of it with a Sagittarius - if they give each other breathing space.

A natural nurturer, the Taurus male will be a great dad and wants a partner to make his house a home. Enter Capricorn – she’s stable and a domestic goodness to boot, so perfect. As for the Air signs, especially Gemini, you’re too much of a free spirit.

Famous Taurus males: David Attenborough, Richard E. Grant, David Beckham, George Clooney, Al Pacino, Pierce Brosnan
