The below table shows the key features of our car insurance policies. If you do not know what cover level or additional options you have chosen you can find this in your policy documents.

Audio/visual cover – Permanently fitted equipment is covered against fire, theft and accidental damage. Cover is unlimited for Saga Plus and Saga Select and up to £1,000 for Saga Standard. Yes Yes Yes
Vandalism promise – You won’t lose your NCD if you make a valid claim for damage caused by vandals. Yes Yes
Uninsured driver promise – You won’t lose your NCD and there’s no excess to pay if you’re hit by an uninsured driver and you supply us with their vehicle details. Yes Yes Yes
Guaranteed replacement car – We’ll give you a replacement car while yours is being repaired after an accident anywhere in the UK, or until it’s declared a total loss (if you use our repairer network). Yes Yes Yes
Windscreen and windows cover – You won’t lose your NCD and are also covered for the realignment and/or calibration of sensor equipment. There’s no excess to pay if our approved repairers can repair the glass for Saga Plus and Saga Select, and an excess of £25 for Saga Standard. Personal accident cover – We’ll provide £5,000 for certain injuries you sustain in an accident involving your vehicle. Yes Yes Yes
Emergency accommodation/get you home cover – If you’re stranded after an accident, we’ll provide up to £500 per incident for accommodation or travel expenses. Yes Yes Yes
Personal belongings cover – We’ll provide up to £1,000 (£400 for Saga Standard cover level) for items carried in your car, such as phones, laptops, glasses and clothing (other limits apply depending on the item, see your Schedule for details). Yes Yes Yes
New for old cover – If you’ve owned your vehicle from new and it’s up to a year old, we’ll replace it with a brand new one if it’s written off. Vehicles between one and two years old are covered up to 12,000 miles for Saga Plus and Saga Select cover levels. Yes Yes Yes
Child car seat cover – We’ll replace your child car seat with a brand-new one following an accident even if there is no apparent damage to it. Yes Yes Yes
Medical expenses cover – We'll provide up to £300 per person for Saga Plus and Saga Select cover levels, and up to £250 for Saga Standard for medical expenses following an accident involving your vehicle. Yes Yes Yes
Key Protection – We’ll cover up to £2,500 per claim and, with us, you'll even get up to £50 for wear and tear. You won't have to pay an excess and your NCD won't be affected. Optional Optional Yes
Claims promise – While you are with us, your NCD won’t be affected by claims caused by theft, fire, storm, flood or animal damage, or if your vehicle is hit when parked. Yes
Legal Protection – We’ll cover up to £100,000 of legal costs for accidents in the UK that are not your fault, as long as an independent legal representative believes there is more than 51% chance of success. Optional Optional Yes
Accident Healthcare cover – We’ll provide you and your spouse/partner with eligible private medical treatment if you’re injured in a road traffic accident. (See separate Policy Book). Yes
Onward taxi travel – If you can’t use your vehicle after an insured incident in the UK, we’ll provide onward travel by taxi to any UK destinations. Yes
3-year fixed price – if nothing changes over the next three years, neither will the cost of your policy. T&Cs apply. Yes

It’s the little things that make a big difference

Did you know with our Saga Plus and Saga Select cover levels…
  • We pay £500 if you or your spouse/domestic partner are physically assaulted as a result of an aggravated theft or attempted theft of your vehicle; or following an accident involving your vehicle
  • We increase the limit on our personal belongings cover on our Comprehensive cover to £2,000 during the month of December to cover the gifts you buy and the gifts you receive.

Things you can do online

You may be able to do things and get the answers you need quickly and easily online.

  • View your documents - With an online MySaga account you can look at your renewal notifications, past quotes, current policy documents and more. Sign in or create an account
  • Update your car insurance - You can now make some amendments to your policy at MySaga, such as increasing or reducing mileage, informing us of a change of use or adding additional cover
  • Chat online - Click on the web-chat icon on any page of our website to search for answers to your questions. Or send an instant message directly to one of our team and they'll get back to you
  • Renew online - You can renew a Saga car policy safely and securely at MySaga, as well as change your mileage or add another driver. However, if you need to change your details or get a different cover level, please contact us
  • Manage your preferences - The easiest way to keep in touch with us is via email. You can let us know which products and services you'd like to hear about and how you'd like us to contact you by managing your preferences.
