Some great reasons to choose Saga Caravan Insurance

Here are some of the great features that make our caravan insurance an excellent choice…

  • A choice of ‘new for old’ or ‘market value’ cover for your caravan and equipment – you can take out ‘new for old’ cover if your caravan is no more than 15 years old*, or you can opt for ‘market value’ cover and insure it and its equipment for their current second-hand value

  • Vandalism cover – your No Claim Discount won’t be affected following a claim for damage caused by vandals

  • Up to £1,500 cover for contents and personal belongings – based on their market value

  • Loss of use cover – if you have an accident and are unable to use your caravan, you can claim up to £2,625 for emergency accommodation, caravan hire and/or travel expenses to get you home

  • Cover for family and friends – your caravan and equipment is covered when you lend it to family or friends (excluding their personal possessions)

  • Cover in the European Union for an unlimited period – available as an optional extra

  • Discounts and choice of excess available – pay less for your cover with our range of discounts (subject to a minimum premium).

Cover at a glance

Caravan insurance FAQs

Find the answers to some frequently asked questions about Saga Caravan Insurance.
Is my caravan covered whilst I'm towing it?

Yes, accidental loss or damage to your caravan is covered whilst travelling by road, rail or sea. European cover will need to be added to your policy if you want to be covered whilst towing your caravan abroad.

What happens if I have an accident whilst towing my caravan? Is that covered under my car or caravan insurance?

In the event of a claim you will need to contact your insurance provider. We cover accidental damage to your caravan and will advise you what to do, depending on your situation, when you contact the claims team. If there is damage to your car, you will need to report this to your car insurance provider.

What happens if my caravan gets a puncture?

Damage to tyres from punctures, cuts or bursts are not covered. If, however, you have added Saga Breakdown Assistance to your policy, flat tyres are included and can be claimed for under all 5 levels of cover. If you have a separate Saga Breakdown Assistance policy or have it as part of a Saga Car Insurance policy, your caravan will have the same cover as the vehicle towing it as long as it meets the acceptance criteria outlined in the policy booklet.

Are my personal belongings covered?

Yes, we cover accidental loss or damage to your contents and personal belongings up to £1,500.
