Here at Saga, we all love listening to podcasts. Whether it’s one about the latest political news, something to make us laugh or an in-depth chat, they are becoming more and more part of our daily routines.

So we are thrilled to announce the launch of the new free Saga podcast, Experience is Everything, hosted by our columnist Dame Jenni Murray.

Five years after leaving Women’s Hour – the radio show Jenni hosted for a record 33 years – she is now back in the interviewer’s hot seat as she chats to national treasures and household names about the lessons they have learnt in their lifetimes, with many surprising, comical and moving moments along the way.

“I am thrilled to back doing what I love and what I do best, which is interviewing some of the nation’s biggest stars and discovering the experiences that have shaped them,” says Jenni. “It’s been more than five years since I was last behind the microphone and I can’t wait for Saga readers to hear the podcast.”

Experience is Everything launches on 2 December, with Jenni talking to comedy legend Paul Merton, who opens up about his life and how he got to where he is today. A new podcast will then come out every other Tuesday with more of the country’s biggest stars talking about the experiences that have shaped them.

Saga Magazine’s editorial director Louise Robinson says: “We are thrilled that our columnist Jenni Murray is back where she belongs – in front of a microphone. I’ve just listened to the final cut of the first episode with Paul Merton and it’s an absolute cracker. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed making it.”
