Although milk is a drink, it acts more like a semi-solid food in the stomach, slowing down digestion and helping to create a sense of satiety. The skimmed-milk powder adds extra protein, boosting this effect.
The fruits provide fibre and bulk, and flax seeds add omega-3 for general brain and heart health.
How to make
- 150ml (5fl oz) semi-skimmed milk mixed with 1 heaped tbsp skimmed milk powder
- 20g (1oz) small, soft porridge oats
- 1 banana, peeled and sliced
- 100g (4oz) peaches canned in fruit juice
- 1 tsp flax seeds, to sprinkle
Combine the fruit and milk in a blender until smooth, then serve with a sprinkle of flax seeds on top.
