This helter-skelter style car toy feature switches, ramps, petrol pump, little cars and more. Looks like great fun, although judging from the reviews may take a little while to put together. RRP £39.99, available from Amazon.

Lego Duplo building blocks

Duplo building blocks are fun and colourful, and like their older brother Lego they have stood the test of time so your grandchild will have no problem building up a set of compatible blocks.
