While you don’t need to memorise the deck plans, having a general sense of where everything is located can save you a lot of time during your first days on board. Knowing where the buffet restaurant is located or which deck that appealing lounge is on will make things much easier.

Do be aware that Wi-Fi can sometimes be a bit patchy due to the nature of ocean cruising, so on some days you’ll get better connectivity than others.
If you are planning on using your tablet to watch films or read books, then make sure you download everything before you board.
That way if you hit patchy Wi-Fi areas, you’ll still be able to enjoy that film or book.
