Journalist, TV presenter and personality Piers Morgan is a seasoned traveller whose work has taken him across the world. With his new book Woke is Dead out now, he spoke to Saga Magazine about how he hasn’t ruled out running for PM, the negative effects of wokeness and how men on fat jabs are “boring”.
But he also took time to share his travel tips with us, learned from years of navigating the globe.
“It has to be the USA. It’s almost a home from home and I have spent a lot of time there. I love the fact that it’s so varied and every state feels different. I love that can-do mentality.
“The Americans are great people… If you’re in a jam, they’ll be there to help you.”
There is something for everyone on a Saga holiday to the USA.
Whether it’s enjoying jazz in New Orleans or showtime in Las Vegas, taking in the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon or the wonder of Niagara Falls.
“It would be very hard to pick just one city. Can I have three?
“New York and Los Angeles – it’s so hard to choose between the two. The full-on energy of New York makes it unlike any other city, but then you’ve got the beauty and the sunshine of LA.
“And my last choice would be Saint-Tropez. OK, it’s not really a ‘city’, but it’s paradise and I take most of my holidays there.
Take a bite out of the Big Apple with one of Saga’s whirlwind New York holidays.
The wide streets, the honking yellow cabs, the iconic skyline and leafy Central Park. You’ll feel like you’ve walked onto the set of a thousand famous films.
“My top tip is take as little away with you as possible. Pack your bag, then have a coffee, go back to your bag and lose 50% of what you’ve got in there.
“But never, ever unpack your favourite pair of shorts, your favourite shades or your Michael Phelps swimming goggles.”
