Orthopaedic surgeon Jonathan Bell sits down with Dr Mark Porter on Experience is Everything; The Health Edition.
The latest episode of Saga’s podcast, Experience is Everything: The Health Edition, is now live and this time it’s all about the knees.
Renowned consultant orthopaedic knee surgeon Jonathan Bell joins Dr Mark Porter to give his advice on how to protect your joints, whether it’s inevitable you’re going to get bad knees and why you shouldn’t be scared to exercise.
“Knees don’t gradually wear out – they’re living structures and they are not like cars that break down when you’ve done a certain amount of miles,” Bell explains.
“The truth is that they actually benefit from exercise. They like being used, they like being moved and like a muscle or your heart, if you train them and strengthen them, it helps.”
