Smooth with a subtle graininess and a hearty substance.
The colour was good, the pork content high and the flavours pleasantly balanced with just a hint of pepper. Delicious!

Delicate and savoury with a pleasant blend of herbs and spices packing a peppery punch.
Visually appealing and texturally luxurious, it tasted exquisite too.
This was expensive, but worth it – though the high price stops it taking the top spot.

Smooth and light but not too wet and with a slightly grainy consistency and wonderful colour.
The flavours were beautifully balanced with the pork taste.

With an appetising colour and a pleasantly smooth texture, this was perfectly palatable and something a little different.
The shallots gave it a distinctive taste, which some may feel masks the pork flavours too much.

A very moist pâté with a smooth, buttery texture, and an overriding taste of liver sausage and little else.
The pale colour did not make it look particularly appealing, however it is good value.

A rather ordinary pâté with a velvety composition – perhaps a little too smooth.
The mild flavour did not really deliver much excitement.

This was too pale in colour and rather lacking in substance.
Its consistency was very light, almost like a mousse.
Upon opening, it became shiny and wept moisture. Not great.
