Is there an upper-age limit for car hire?
Insurance companies set a maximum age for car rental; usually the cut-off is 70 or 75.
Different rental companies, however, will have differing insurance providers, so the only way you will really know if you're allowed to drive away in the reserved hire car is if you ask about age restrictions prior to your holiday. Be warned: some hire companies will ask to see a doctor's note before you travel.
Here at Saga, we think age, wisdom and experience should be rewarded for safer driving. As a result, we offer various exclusive discounts and incentives to our customers. We work alongside Hertz – one of the most well-known and reputable car hire companies – to take the stress out of hiring a car.
