Time for a G&T? Learn how to make the perfect cocktail at the iconic Bombay Sapphire distillery in Hampshire. With its lavish Victorian architecture and centuries-old distillation process, this is your chance to win a date with gin.
Twenty Possibilities members and a guest will win the chance to visit the home of the world-renowned Bombay Sapphire. Every drop is made at the distillery based at Laverstoke Mill, near Whitchurch in Hampshire. Nestled in a leafy conservation area astride the River Test, Laverstoke Mill dates back to the 10th century in an old Victorian paper mill.
Winning gold at the Beautiful South Awards 2017 for Small Visitor Attraction of the Year, the distillery has achieved many awards for its sustainability and distilling since it opened in October 2014. Your visit will include a hosted guided tour of the distillery and a Gin Cocktail Masterclass. Across the distillery’s sprawling Victorian architecture, you will learn about the history of gin, Laverstoke Mill and Bombay Sapphire while also discovering the botanicals that make Bombay Sapphire gin so unique.
Infusions and architecture
Discover the Vapour Infusion distillation process in the Dakin Still House, wander through the Botanical Dry Room, and breathe in the ten exotic botanicals used to make Bombay Sapphire and Star of Bombay. Central to Laverstoke Mill are two magnificent intertwining glasshouses, designed by the Heatherwick Studio. The tour concludes with your choice of cocktail from the Mill Bar menu suited to your flavour profile created in the Dry Room.
You will learn from a gin expert how to make the perfect gin & tonic and martini, and signature cocktail – the Laverstoke. And after sampling your creations you will be given a Bombay Sapphire Cocktail Book, signed by Senior Brand Ambassador Sam Carter. Cheers!
