Anna says, “My sole focus for Saga Home Insurance is not to just meet customers’ expectations but to exceed them with the cover and service we provide every step of the way. We want every policy to bring peace of mind and to smooth the way if you ever need to make a claim.

"It's important to me that we learn from our experiences, good and bad, and listening to our customers is the best way to do that. It helps to make our home insurance better for everyone."

Expert advice from Anna

  • Look after your roof and your roof will look after you.
Bad weather alone doesn't mean your claim will be accepted – if your roof has missing tiles already or is in disrepair, your claim could be declined, so check that your roof is in good condition before the stormy weather starts.
  • Find your policy documents and put the claims line number (or numbers – you might have two different ones on a combined policy) in your phone.
If you need to get in touch to make a claim, you might not want to be searching around for paperwork. And check the numbers each time you renew as they may change.
  • Take a look at your stopcock today.
You might have to think for a minute where it is as you probably don’t use it from one decade to the next. Once you’ve located it, make sure it’s easy to get to so you can turn off the supply quickly if there's a burst pipe or water leak. If you have to rummage through wellies or spray cleaners to reach it, put everything in a grabbable box so you can get them out the way quickly.
