Personal Belongings Cover

Personal Belongings Cover offers worldwide protection for your possessions up to £10,000 per incident (lower levels up to £2,500 or £5,000 are also available) whether you’ve lost an item inside your home or garden, accidentally left something on the train, or damaged a valued possession while you’re out and about.

The types of incident covered include:

  •   Watches and cameras lost on holiday
  •   An iPad left on the train
  •   A phone left in a taxi

Our Premier Home Insurance includes personal belongings cover up to £10,000 per incident as standard, or you can add it to a Home Insurance policy.



From £39.99 per year, you can protect your home with Saga Home Emergency. With unlimited call outs each year and up to £2,000 per incident, your home is covered for a range of emergencies relating to the following areas:

  •   Plumbing and drains, if you have a blocked drain or a burst pipe
  •   Internal electrics, if there is complete failure of internal electrics
  •   Pest infestation, such as the removal of wasps or hornets nests
  •   Security (i.e. glazing and locks) if you have a smashed window that's causing a security risk.

Cover includes:

  •   Emergency helpline available 24/7
  •   Work done by approved tradesmen
  •   Call out charges
  •   Guarantee on permanent repairs.

Saga Home Insurance’s Legal Expenses option now includes a new Personal Cybercrime service. This means you can get advice, support and solutions for identity fraud, computer viruses and suspicious emails – as well as legal costs of up to £100,000 for a range of proceedings. 

Our improved cover provides the following benefits:

  • Unlimited legal and tax advice
  • Up to £100,000 for a variety of legal proceedings
  • 24-hour fraud and scam helpline
  • Up to £25,000 per year for help following a cyberattack or virus
  • 24-hour helpline offering specialist advice on avoiding cybercrime as well as prompt assistance following a cyberattack or virus
  • Cover following a cyberattack includes the cost of restoring electronic devices and monitoring your credit score for 12 months.

  • Your computer has a virus.

Please note that we will cover claims as long as the legal team believes you can win your case. You should ensure that you have basic security software installed on your electronic devices and accounts should be password protected. Cover is available when the amount in dispute is £100 or more and we cover pre-existing contracts as long as the incident occurred during the period of insurance.



Garden Cover

Your Saga Home Insurance contents cover includes Garden Cover as standard, but you can extend this cover up to £5,000 per claim for your outdoor items in the event of adverse weather conditions or theft to your property. Items covered include:

 

  • Garden furniture
  • Garden tools
  • Barbecues
  • Children's play equipment
  • Ornaments
  • Greenhouses
  • Freestanding storage units

As well as paying for the replacement of your garden items if they are destroyed or stolen, we will cover the cost of garden re-design fees and you'll receive 20% discount on selected items at the Saga Garden Centre.
