Worldwide cover for your personal belongings

Get worldwide protection for your possessions up to £10,000 per incident (lower levels up to £2,500 or £5,000 are also available). Whether you’ve lost an item inside your home or garden, accidentally left something on the train, or damaged a valued possession while you’re out and about.

The types of incident covered include:

  • Watches and cameras lost on holiday
  • An iPad left on the train
  • A phone left in a taxi

Saga Plus includes Worldwide cover for your personal belongings up to £10,000 per incident as standard, or you can add it to our Saga Select cover level.

Accidental Damage

Repair or replace belongings around your home after accidental mishaps and unexpected damage.

Accidental Damage comes as standard with Saga Plus, but can be added as an additional cover option to your Saga Select policy.

Who provides Saga Home Insurance?

Home Emergency

You can protect your home by adding Home Emergency  or Home and Heating Emergency to your Saga Home Insurance policy. With unlimited call outs each year and up to £2,000 per incident, your home is covered for a range of emergencies relating to the following areas:

  • Plumbing and drains, if you have a blocked drain or a burst pipe
  • Electrical, if there is a partial or complete failure of internal electrics
  • Pest infestation, such as the removal of wasp or hornet nests and mice or rats
  • Security (i.e. glazing and locks) if you have a smashed window that's causing a security risk or you've lost your keys and are locked out of your home.

Please note, claims cannot be made within the first 14 days of the policy. Our Home emergency cover is only for unforeseen failures and problems where we complete temporary fixes to make sure the home is habitable, so we can't cover maintenance issues or problems that worsen gradually over time.

Our Legal Expenses option includes an Online Safety Support Service. This means you can get advice, support and solutions for identity fraud, computer viruses and suspicious emails - as well as Legal costs of up to £100,000 for a range of proceedings.

Our Legal Expenses cover provides the following benefits:

  • Unlimited legal and tax advice
  • Up to £100,000 for a variety of legal proceedings
  • 24-hour fraud and scam helpline
  • Protection for Legal claims and disputes for you and any family members permanently living with you
  • Cover for a range of legal proceedings relating to your home, contract disputes, employment, death, personal injury and more
  • 24-hour Online Safety Support Service offering expert advice and assistance to help you prevent viruses and restore your electronic devices following a potential cyber-attack.

Our Legal Expenses cover could help in the following situations:

  • You have a property damage dispute, such as your neighbour’s overhanging branches fall and damage your property
  • You have a contract dispute, such as with a company who has sold you defective goods
  • You’ve been the victim of identity theft
  • Your receive a suspicious email and would like advice
  • Your computer has a virus.

Please note that we cover claims as long as an independent legal representative believes you can win your case. You should ensure that you have basic security software installed on your electronic devices and accounts should be password protected. We cover pre-existing contracts as long as the incident occurred during the period of insurance.
