CitySprint: Part time work to suit your lifestyle

31 March 2017

CitySprint is growing fast - and needs you!

CitySprint are looking for people to join our local courier fleet; working part time and to a schedule that suits your lifestyle.

Earn extra cash for the things that matter most in your life and stay active in your neighbourhood by carrying out local deliveries in your own car.

This can be hugely rewarding work and you will join a growing number of self-employed local couriers who already work with CitySprint.

Don’t take our word for it though, read more below on Darryl’s experience working as a CitySprint courier…

A little bit about Darryl

My name is Darryl; I’m 65 years old and I have been married to Sylvia for 44 years.

A busy bunch, we have two children, three grandchildren, and 14 year old dog named Boy.

We are very active people who enjoy walking, gardening and sports (Sylvia still plays netball at 63 years old and up until very recently, I coached football at Northern Premier League level).

We love keeping busy and fit and there is definitely no stopping us yet!

About working with CitySprint

I have been tendering my services to CitySprint for over 10 years now. This has been an enjoyable and profitable period in my life which has provided me with both continuity of work and huge amounts of variety.

I love being self-employed which means I have the benefit of being my own man, while having the support of a big national company behind me.

Over the years, I have made many friends, both on the road and off, and I really care about our clients and the job that we do for them.

I get to work with some big companies, like Boots, the NHS and some high street retailers, and I can honestly say that it’s a pleasure to go to work.

The tea, biscuits and gossip that I get from some of my lovely regular customers is just the cherry on top!

A memorable moment as a courier

I recall one delivery that I carried out for Lloyds Pharmacy. I sensed the lady wasn’t well when I spoke to her and I reported this to the pharmacist immediately, who in turn got her to the doctor as she was poorly.

It is very satisfying to know that I helped her and made a direct difference to her life.

What it is like being a courier?

I get to work on a number of different deliveries during a day. I love the fact that the work is varied and I get to talk to so many different people; the money is great at well!

The CitySprint team at my local service centre are both helpful and supportive and it’s a real group effort with both couriers and the service centre to ensure deliveries go smoothly.

This job is really enjoyable

I have worked with CitySprint for so long for a very simple reason - I enjoy what I do and I get well paid for it. It’s hugely satisfying and I make new friends every day.

I love new challenges and different jobs - I am 65 years old and have no plan to retire yet! That’s why this job is perfect as you can work as little or as much as you want since you are self-employed.

A parting word from Darryl

Be on time, be happy, be reliable but most importantly, be yourself! This is a great opportunity to make money and keep busy.
