Emma Peat - Head of Talent Acquisition

I love being able to lead the strategy towards delivering an exceptional candidate experience for everyone who applies to join us. We have some brilliant people here and my role directly contributes to building our internal talent which is exciting.

It’s so important for any business to hire people of all backgrounds, ages and demographics and this ethos is shared by everyone involved in hiring here. This diversity fosters creativity, innovation, and better decision-making, which ultimately leads to a more dynamic and inclusive workplace. For Saga it's also particularly important to make sure we address the needs and preferences of our customer base, as this ultimately contributes to a more adaptable and resilient business.

Invited for an interview?

Our interview process is simple, fair and inclusive. If we decide to take your application forward to the interview stage, a member of our Talent Acquisition team will email you or give you a call.

We’ll ask you about your experience and your goals, and tell you about the role in more detail. The end-to-end process will depend on the job you’re applying for, but we’ll explain it all when we contact you so that you know what to expect.

We do everything we can to make sure our emails don’t get lost, but if you’re waiting for a response, check your spam folder and contact us if you can’t find the message you’re expecting.

Frequently asked questions
Our team is here to help you throughout the process. Take a look at our most frequently asked questions to get started
I've applied for a job at Saga - will I receive a personal response?

Yes. We'll let you know via email when we receive your application. A dedicated member of the talent acquisition team will review every application and you'll hear back from us whatever the outcome - even if your experience isn't quite right for the role.

When will I hear back after my application is submitted?

We aim to shortlist for our vacancies within two weeks. We do everything we can to make sure our emails don’t get lost, but if you’re waiting for a response, check your spam folder and contact us if you can’t find the message you’re expecting.

What are you looking for in a CV?

Showcase you – Include a profile section about you at the top. How do you meet the criteria of the role?

  • Fonts – keep them simple and sized correctly throughout the word or PDF document.
  • Dates – start with your most recent role or experience, working backwards. Include more detail into your most recent roles.
  • Bullet Points – a clear and concise way to summarise your skills and experience.
  • Insight – Note the nature of the businesses you’ve worked for. Not all businesses are well-known and this helps a viewer to understand your experience.
  • Ditch the terminology – your CV needs to be understood by everyone reading it.
  • What you’ve achieved so far – how you work and how you can evolve and adapt. Give us an insight to your interests and personal passions.
  • Proofread – get a friend, colleague, or member of your family to proofread. Grammar and spelling should be double checked.
I wasn’t successful in the application process. Will I receive feedback?

We always give feedback to our candidates over the phone if they have interviewed with us.

Due to the high number of applications we receive, if you’re not successful at the CV screening stage, we won’t be able to give you individual feedback.

I have applied for a role already and have seen another that I’m interested in. Can I still apply?

You’re welcome to apply for multiple roles with us. Just make sure you have the relevant experience for each vacancy you’re applying for.

How can I stay up to date with jobs at Saga?

All of our vacancies are posted on our LinkedIn page and our careers website so make sure to follow us to find our open roles.

Do you work with recruitment agencies?

Our in-house Talent acquisition team uses a variety of sources to help us find the best talent ourselves, and we rarely work with agencies. When we do need additional support, we mostly partner with our trusted suppliers who have worked with us before.

We are not liable for fees associated with speculative CV submissions so please do not send unsolicited CV’s to our employees.

Do I need to check the status of my application?

No, you don’t need to do anything. One of our Talent Acquisition Partners will be in touch with you over email whatever the outcome.

What is your approach to flexible working?

Each business within Saga has a different approach to hybrid working which is dependent on the needs of the position. Information regarding hybrid working and flexibility will be clearly written in all of our job adverts, and it will be discussed with you directly if you progress to the interview process.

Is there a specific format for submitting my CV and cover letter?

We recommend submitting your documents in Word or PDF format to ensure the file size isn’t too large for our system to allow.

What is the typical recruitment process timeline?

Every process will vary due to the nature of the role and the level of seniority, but we estimate that every candidate will hear back from us within 2-4 weeks of applying.

Will my application be viewed by a person or do you use AI for recruitment?

Whilst technology advancements can be really beneficial in recruitment we believe it’s still important to maintain a people focussed approach to our hiring so every application we receive will be reviewed by one of our dedicated Talent Acquisition Team.

What is the dress code for an interview?

We advise all candidates ahead of an interview that our dress code is smart casual. We want everyone to feel comfortable as long as it’s appropriate for an office environment.

Recruitment Fraud

Please note, both Saga and our authorized hiring partners uphold a strict policy against requesting payment for application fees, processing fees or agency fees. Any request for monetary transactions made throughout the entire process is not legitimate. We will never request money in exchange for a guaranteed role. We will never ask for upfront fees or advance payments for uniform, medical expenses, visa processing, immigration lawyers or work permits.

Saga will never send job offers via email without you applying for a role or before conducting a full job interview either in person or through remote means.

Be aware of sophisticated fraudsters who are offering jobs that don’t exist so please do not send any money or any documentation without due diligence. Always check our website for our available positions and LinkedIn to verify our legitimate colleagues.
