Renew your pet insurance with Saga

Thank you for insuring your pet with Saga. You'll receive your renewal invitation with your new price by post around three weeks before your renewal date.

Important information about Saga Pet Insurance

Unfortunately, from 9 September 2025 Saga Pet Insurance will no longer be available. This means that if your current policy comes to an end after that date, we won’t be able to renew it.

To keep things simple, and to ensure you have ongoing cover for your pet, we’ve found an alternative provider for your next policy.

Co-op Pet Insurance is a trusted name with over 14 years’ experience providing cover for pets, and we have chosen to work in partnership with them to make the process of switching as seamless as possible. You will be offered a quote for a pet insurance policy with Co-op that will be comparable to the cover you’ve had from Saga.

You will soon receive a letter which includes details about the arrangement of your insurance after your policy expires. For more information, please see our Pet Insurance Transfer FAQs.

What to check before you renew

It's important to review your cover to make sure it still meets your needs. You might want to consider whether:

  • Your cover level is still right for you.
  • Your details are up to date and correct.

Simply head to MySaga to view your policy documents.

Pet Insurance Transfer FAQs:

Do I need to do anything to accept Co-op as my new pet insurance provider?

Monthly Direct Debit customers

No, we'll make all the arrangements, including the automatic secure transfer of your payment details.

Non-monthly Direct Debit customers

Yes, you will need to contact Co-op directly if you wish to proceed. We won’t share your payment details with Co-op, so you’ll need to contact Co-op to accept their quote and arrange payment.

If you would like to discuss anything with Co-op, you can call them on:

What is the process for transferring my monthly Direct Debit payment?

The banks have an agreed, accredited process to follow to make this transaction secure and seamless for customers. This will be done automatically so there will be no break in your cover.

Will my premium change if I move to Co-op?

The amount you pay can change when you receive any renewal quote; however, both Saga and Co-op are committed to ensuring your quote reflects your individual risk profile and offers fair value.

Will my cover terms change if I transfer to Co-op?

If you choose to accept the new quote from Co-op, they have agreed to honour cover for any pre-existing medical conditions for your pet(s).

However, if you have Essential or Saver cover, please check your current Saga policy schedule for any time limits and/or cover limits that may already have been reached, as these will still apply when your new Co-op policy begins.

Why is this transfer to Co-op taking place?

Saga no longer offers pet insurance and no further cover will be provided by Saga. To ensure you have ongoing cover for your pet, we’ve found Co-op as an alternative provider for your new policy.

Co-op Pet Insurance is a trusted name with over 14 years’ experience providing cover for pets, so we have chosen to work in partnership with them to make the process of switching as seamless as possible.

How will Co-op use my personal information?

Co-op’s privacy notice explains how they may use your information and the rights you may have in respect of that information.
