You don't have to replace your curved window frames if you'd rather not

Question
Some of the hinges of the curved metal framed windows in my 1930s house are breaking away from the frames.
Various replacement window firms tell me that they cannot be repaired and the only solution is to fit new plastic framed windows. I would like to retain the 1930s appearance which would be spoilt by the chunky nature of plastic frames.
Is there any alternative?
How to clean windows
Answer
Congratulations for wanting to preserve the original art deco style of your house!
Yes, there is a solution. The metal windows, typical of the 1930s, were often referred to as ‘Crittall Windows’ because most of them were made by a firm of the same name.
Fortunately The Crittall Window Company Ltd is still in business and continues to make similar metal windows in the original Imperial sizes.
