The bathroom in our 1970’s house is tiled, floor to ceiling, in 6 inch square avocado which we would like to replace.
Is there a way of removing the tiles without damaging the plasterboard beneath?
Removing tiles is a tedious job and often leaves an uneven surface.
Tiling over the existing tiles using one of the ‘tile-on-tile adhesives such as ‘Bal Whitestar+’ is an alternative but you may need to reposition basins, radiators etc to allow for the increased depth of up to 15mm.
An alternative is to paint the existing tiles using special tile paint from Dulux or International amongst others.
