It is sensible to let your neighbour know if you are planning to remove a hedge on the boundary of your property.
It is sensible to let your neighbour know if you are planning to remove a hedge on the boundary of your property.
Question
Having read your previous answers about hedges I would like to ask you about mine. The boundary of my property is marked by a concrete kerb and the hedge is entirely on my side of that kerb. Am I right in thinking that I am entitled to remove it?
Answer
On the basis of the information you have given me the hedge appears to be exclusively your property and therefore you can remove it. However, it would be sensible to let you neighbour know what you intend so that they can make alternative arrangements on their land for security, privacy or containment of pets.
