Increase oxygen to the brain with this beetroot smoothie full of nutrients.

Anthocyanin in the berries and nutrients in beetroot seem to help blood flow, which may lower blood pressure and increase oxygen to the brain. 

The protein in the yoghurt makes this a sustaining start to the day while the orange juice is great for vitamin C and folate, a B vitamin good for heart health.

How to make

  • 50g (2oz) raw beetroot, peeled and chopped
  • 100g (4oz) frozen mixed berries, including blueberries
  • 100g (4oz) low-fat Greek yoghurt
  • 120ml (4fl oz) orange juice

Simply blend all the ingredients together until smooth.
